2011 First CEL

Had the truck detailed. They do underhood cleanup as part of the service. Ended up with a CEL due to P0113 ITA Hi code. Truck goes back and forth between normal and reduced power. The A/C goes on and off as well. Truck is going in for service on Monday anyway. Anyone have any insight on what they could have touched or how the A/C is affected?

I'm glad you're getting this into the hands of your dealer, AMEC Electric LLC. How many miles are on the truck? I'll start researching some ways to assist.

Thanks Crystal!

86,000 miles. Just thinking I could swap out sensor instead of waiting until Monday.

Thanks for the quick reply, Andy! Come back and tell us how swapping the sensor goes. If you decide to have your dealer take a peek, I'll be able to escalate you to the customer service manager for your region. I'll hang around this thread to see how things go for you.

Hey buddy,

Yes they most likely broke the MAF/IAT sensor or plug. It's easy to do when poking around under the hood. (I have done it )

Sometime mine just comes unplugged cuz my plug is kinda broken, check to see if the connection is tight.

P0113 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor 1 Circuit High

Description: The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the IAT sensor circuit through the comprehensive component monitor (CCM). If the IAT sensor signal voltage is greater than the maximum calibrated limit, the test fails.
Possible Causes: IAT circuit open or short to voltage
Damaged IAT sensor
Incorrect harness connection

Diagnostic Aids: An IAT V PID reading greater than 4.75 volts with key on engine off (KOEO) or during any engine operating mode indicates a concern.
Application Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory
All GO to Pinpoint Test F .

Long time
The connection is very strange....at best. There is another sensor in the intercooler charge tube.....isn't that the IAT?

LOL ya it's been a while.

IAT is part of MAF

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
The IAT sensor is a thermistor device in which resistance changes with temperature. The electrical resistance of a thermistor decreases as the temperature increases, and resistance increases as the temperature decreases. The varying resistance affects the voltage drop across the sensor terminals and provides electrical voltage signals to the powertrain control module (PCM) corresponding to temperature.

The IAT sensor is integrated with the mass air flow (MAF) sensor, known as the MAF/IAT sensor.

The MAF/IAT sensor is located in the intake air tube between the air filter housing and the turbocharger intake

Its been a long while I try to stay away....too many wishlist items if I stay on here too long.

So I'm guessing the sensor is probably bad. Found the tube loose between the air filter and intake....only my dealer has worked on it

Thanks for the advice and drawings

Pull out red tab, then push on top, then pull (while pushing on the top). Should not need much force.

Got it! PITA!

So the connector was corroded. Cleaned up with contact cleaner and re-assembled. Got the guy down the street to reset CEL and so far all good!

Thanks Darren!
