Need a reflash?

A couple of weeks ago, I had a CEL and had the truck diagnosed. The code that was stored was for the Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) sensor. The dealer wanted over $500 for this service, so I opted to do it myself. I bought the sensor and installed it. No CEL now. My question is if I need to re-flash the truck after this work? The dealer said that a they re-flash after every service and a re-flash was included in that original quote. Since I have changed that sensor, my truck feels a bit under powered. It could be my imagination, but when I drove 100 miles last week, I really needed to anticipate inclines in the roadway and press the pedal down further to maintain my speed ~65mph empty, which I don't recall having had to do before. I'm going to go out now and check some things, but I was just wondering if the re-flash would do anything for me.

You do not need a reflash. Nothing you changed would require a reflash.

Depending on what was wrong with your oil temp sender it could have been advancing the timing making it feel more powerful then it was... Or it could just be that nagging little voice telling you maybe you did something wrong.

I hate that voice as well. I am outside right now just checking things out. It had occurred to me that I have never looked at my turbo fins. I took the intake tubes off and the turbo fins look brand new. I will post up pics in a little bit. The only question I have about my intake is that the rearward portion after the oil tube inlet, it is very lightly dusty in the light oil coating the inside of that tube. Is that normal? I am cleaning it anyway, but I wanted to check.

Oil in there is normal because of the CCV vent.

I cleaned the intake tubes. I know that oil will get in there by the CCV vent, but there was a tiny bit of dirt in the oil in that part of the tube, so I just cleaned everything and it should all be good now. At least I know I won't have turbo problems for a long time. I did notice that on that bracket that connects the two intake tube portions, there are holes for two bolts, but I only had one, so I need to get a new bolt.

I only run one bolt FYI, makes it easier for me to pull of the intake tube to inspect.

Maybe that's why I only had one bolt...
