i mean it's a dump truck. it weighs 11k empty............................................. .........i know that i can have 3-4 ton in the back and tow my bobcat and the 6.7 doesn't even flinch
There's your answer...................11k truck plus 6-8k in the body AND the tongue weight of a trailer? I'm sure you're way over what the tire ratings, axle rating, and you are over the 14k GVWR. Good luck getting any 17" tire to live under those conditions.
My factory Generals where done at 17 and my Michelin lx seem to be doing ok. The truck is used to tow so it does not get much lite use. Heavy use does eat the tires.

I've only done that once or twice haha. But it did it.
41k on my Michelins in 2 years and about 7/32nds left. Rotated ONCE, at 25k, and showing even wear. By this point the shoulder blocks are worn flush with their base, so the tire now looks like a highway tire, but still a long way from wear bars.
I ordered my 2015 with Toyo Open Country A/T II on it and I love them it's the only tire I'll put on my trucks. But I agree BFG tires are garbage I've had 2 sets on my 99 silverado and rode like crap and wore terrible.
Are the BFGs the Rugged Terrains? That's what my truck came with and they're doing really well. I'll likely put BFG A/Ts on when I need new ones.
My last truck came with the rugged trail and they lasted o.k., but I replaced them with all terrains and had 3 of four fail on the first set, the tread split on them and one came apart and took out the side if my truck causing 2500 dollars in damage. I then replaced them with another set of the at's as I had been using that type of tire for many years with no problems but I could not get them balanced and both sets were throwing chunks of tread when I was on the highway on a hot day, so I just replaced them with a different type, both sets only lasted a few months before I started having issues with them. I don't know if it is true or not but the ford dealer told me they changed the composition of the at's and have been having a lot of failures with them. I just bought a new truck this month and it has the rugged trails on it, when they go I will not be replacing them with the bf Goodrich brand. I have been using the bf's at's since the 80's with no problems, but they are too expensive to have so many issues. sorry for the long post, just trying to get the word out, maybe it will save someone some money.
I got about 55k out of my factory Michelin's half if it was interstate miles. Some friends got about 30k and one who drives like a jack *** got 15k lol.
