Wheel bearing replacement ?
New to the forum and just wanted to say hello to you all first .
I have a 2005 f250 xlt v10 6 inch lift on 38's , had the truck since new and is a beast , recently driving down the same streets you just know when something is off . I live on a brick road and when I hit a certain dip in the road I feel a jolt coming from the rear axle .
I have lifted the truck shook the tires around with little to no movement at all , however if I rock the bed back and forth I hear a clunk noise and I have narrowed it down to the rear tires . I would guess I have some bearings needing to be replaced ?
If you hit a right corner just right you get the same clunk noise like almost a shift in the wheel . I took to my local shop and they tightened the rear axle bearings they claimed , I've never heard of that so paid $150 in hope that would fix the problem and of course it did not .
I believe it's an inner bearing , I know it's a couple hours of labor and I'm willing to pay the shop , just wanted a couple opinions before I take it back and ask them to pull it apart.
Any suggestions are much appreciated
Thanks
Jhornik
