We must think alike.. I pulled into a Burger King where the 58 and 395 meet near Barstow with the intention if taping the hose up. Popped the hood, looked at it for a minute, then decided the tape might not be such a good idea. LOL 😁

Is "that" a cooler hose? No wonder it split. Mine are metal but the fresh air intake is similar to that one.

That's just another one of the so called improvements they made to the newer trucks.

CAC boot

I blew mine off yesterday - had no clue what happened. Searching this site got me to the right people. $130 for the new hose. I'm seeing the Rif-Raff info ... wondering if that goes over the OEM hose or instead of it.

The Riff Raff boots replace the factory boots. We just got back from a 4700 mile trip pulling our fifth wheel and did not have another problem. I bought the rings that go on the tubes to help lock in the boots, double clamped the hot side lower tube, flared out the tube ends, and tightened the crap out of them. I re tightened them a couple of times also because they were a little loose. The truck pulls much better when you are able to give plenty of throttle not worrying about popping off boots on every hill.

Plastic part on the driver's side, or just one of the two blue boots on the passengers's side?

These replace the blue passenger's side boots:

Replace as a pair with new clamps, and you shouldn't have problems again.

Driver Side Metal Intercooler CAC Tube Kit 03-07 - Riffraff Diesel Performance
This entirely replaces the driver's side plastic hose with a metal one and boots, like the original 03-04 setup before the plastic tube showed up. Worthwhile because it won't tear a hole like the plastic tube.
