Rear differential & axles
I'm having this grinding noise from the rear driver side. I've replaced my wheel bearing hub assembly and it was very hard to remove. A shop ended up using heat and a air hammer to remove the hub. Now the hub is seized up again on the same axle. I've purchased another axle and I'm not sure if I need to go thru the hell to replace it and possibly all I really need to do is add fluid to the different and beat the hell out of the hub to get it off and replace it.

On the independent rear suspension you have to drop the rear assembly to open the pumpkin. The "cover" is actually part of the mount, and secured to the chasis. You're right, it's not as easy as it should be ....
