Over size tires on excursion

I have installed a set of 295 75 16 tires on an 01 Excursion (My father in laws). The truck has since developed a vibration that get worse the faster you drive. It has been suggested that we have "over tired" the truck and should go back to the original 265 75 16 tire. The truck has 50,000+ miles on it and original shocks. I think the shocks could be the source of the problem although I wouldn't think this would show up as a constant vibration. I have had the entire drive train checked out and nothing has shown up. Has any one installed the larger rubber and had problems or success?

I have had this same experience several times, and each time it was traced to an "out of balance" tire. I'd have them rechecked.

The left rear tire was replaced with a new one becuase the mechanic stated they couldn't get it to balance. The vibration is still there. Two bad tires in a row would really be surprising, especially with them being a major name brand.
