I saw a Tach already listed but I'd add these to the list:

##) Real "gauges" like oil pressure, coolant temp, voltmeter and a vacuum.
##) "Security system" or anti-theft device, starter kill, ignition kill, fuel shut-off etc.
##) Keyed Hood lock (OEM)
##) Locking gas cap
##) Fire extinguisher
##) Waterless coolant (Like Evan's) Not cheap but really good!
##) Secondary battery (for lights, stereo, winch and backup starting)
##) Upgraded modern fuse block

Dentside Upgrade List

Here is an "all day" of what we have come up with so far.

In no particular order.. you pick, you choose!:

1) Better/Newer Seats
2) Better/brighter back-up lights
3) Sound deadening (cab / firewall)
4) 4-wheel disc brakes conversion*/9 inch rear disc brake installation
5) Hydroboost conversion
6) 3G 130-amp alternator
7) Lincoln Mark VIII Electric Fan
8) New air-conditioner unit
9) Duraspark II Ignition system
10) Cup holders/center console
11) Aluminium Radiator
12) Headlight Relay Harness
13) Fog Lights
14) Auxiliary Driving Lights
15) Tow hooks, front and rear (to pull Dodges and Chevys out of ditches).
16) Tailgate upgrade (make them harder to steal/release from bed)
17) Transmission temp sensor + Gauge (transmission related, but it's for peace of mind!)
17a) Transmission cooler
18) Tachometer
19) Serpentine pulleys + Belts (increase fuel economy, quiet the engine bay)
20) Add additional springs/bags to back
21) Install engine oil cooler/remote oil filter
22) F-150 and Bronco specific brake upgrade to late 70's Lincoln calipers
23) PMGR starter. Lighter, more powerful, easier on electrical, more clearance for headers. Only $20-40 more than stock starter from DB electrical.
24) One-piece aluminum driveshaft. Lighter and simpler.
25) Real "gauges" like oil pressure, coolant temp, voltmeter and a vacuum.
26) "Security system" or anti-theft device, starter kill, ignition kill, fuel shut-off etc.
27) Keyed hood lock (OEM)
28) Locking gas cap

I do have a 9" rear end, but not sure how that would affect things - a 1330 U-joint with the normal caps vs a 1330 U-joint with the big caps doesn't really change the cost.
Only that mine is in an F250 and has a Dana 60 rear. The big caps are stupid. Its just the diameter increase for the 3/4 ton truck versus 1/2 ton. Still nothing you said is wrong. Alright I'm done trying to justify my existence.

And this is the reason why I started this thread.

I knew there were a ton of upgrades out there, but it's so hard to keep track of which ones I want and which ones are "wish list".

I just put a db electrical starter on my 460 last weekend. It is so much better than the old style. Starts much faster and sounds neat too.

Make sure you wire it with constant power to the remote solenoid. I have heard if you don't it will drag.

Great list so far! Really helps make the whole "remembering" thing easier

Didn't see this one on there yet. Intermittent wiper switch conversion

In case anyone doesn't know, to wire the pmgr, move the starter power cable to the hot side of the solenoid on the fire wall. This then runs to the power terminal on the starter. Then take the correct length of 10 or 12 gaugewire (I used red) and crimp loops on each end. One goes on the starter solenoid on the fender where the power cable to the starter used to connect. The other goes to the solenoid on the starter. So you wire it so the starter always has a 12v power supply and when you turn the key, the solenoid on the fender sends power to the solenoid on the starter to start cranking.

I used a fusible link on that *any* wire to the PMGR starter. Something like 18 gauge fusible and 14 gauge wire. Probably not needed, but is there jus in case.

I had to make a lug extension on my starter solenoid battery side. I used a 5/16" fine thread coupler nut and a bolt. Stopped at 4 hardware stores in town and only one had the fine thread coupler.
