Shift Kit Question

Good morning,

I have a 95 f350 7.3 e40d 4x4: I just bought a shift correction kit from shift technology products and was looking thru the instructions when I saw that steps 5-10 requires pulling the transmission from the truck. This is the first shift kit I have bought that pulling the transmission is required.

I am going to be replacing the solenoid pack and wanted to add a shift kit while having the pan removed.

My question is would harm come to the transmission by following the steps 1-4 ( beefing up the springs in the accumulator only) ? I thought there was a kit from another company that did just that, but that was 10 + years ago and things get foggy back than.

The dealer says it is recommended, but I wonder if they have to say that for liability.

Thanks for any help

the reason some kits have parts that require the trans to be pulled,is because they have parts intended to mod the front pump.
it's perfectly safe to leave the trans in and simply mod the valve body if you want.
modding the front pump helps with the converters lock up power and quickness.it's worth doing but not required.
