Is there such a thing as too many miles on a 7.3? What is the "measuring stick"? I'm looking at a '01 f250 SD that was used to transport material on a trailer from Houston to Il. and Pa. area for about 200k mi. of its life. It now has about 217K. Is that too many for a truck that has service records to show frequent oil changes, brakes, lower ball joints, cooling system service, etc.? I know there are plenty of high miles 7.3's out there, so please help me out here. thanks

heck, it is still practically new. ive got a truck that i regularly drive out of state with almost 300k on it. if it has all records, and it looks and drives like it was well maintained, you might have yourself a winner.

I bought Stinky with 217K miles and he was beat hard - regardless of the oil changes and other maintenance. I have something like 299,850 miles now, and if the motor gives up, I'm putting another one in - it won't get the thrashing the last one did. I figure if a motor can be abused and go 300K so far, imagine what a pampered one will do.
Chris just replaced his injectors at over 400K, and there are many out there with 300K on up just as happy as you please.
