Question oil consumption

I've got an 06 F-150 5.4, uses over a quart of oil between oil changes at5k mi. I get a cloud of blue smoke at start up. Truck has 53k mi. Anyone have a similar problem.

No, but it sounds like the oil is getting into the cylinders from the heads. This used to point to valve seals on pushrod engines but I'm not up on how things are done in the new mills. About 1 qt in 5000 miles is actually not considered serious oil use, but most of these engines do not use oil.

Make sure your PCV valve and hoses are not clogged and working. Though 1 quart in 5,000 miles is not bad. Also some oils will be used in the engine more than others. Sometimes when changing oil brands and type you can tend to use some oil at first but it usually stops. I've had this when first using Mobil 1 and Havoline synthetic after using other oils.
