Morning everyone

Looks like a scorcher today.

Been quiet for a couple of weeks, but back now.

Stayed at the campground to recuperate. My old computer that I keep down there bit the dust. So no communications. Kathy is hunting one down for me now.

Greg great looking truck, good luck with it.

Greg, truck looks very very very nice!

Aaron, what type of concrete are you going to buy/mix? We usually get the quickrete 80lb bags and I am the mixer

I'd rather mix concrete than the mortar we use, and Id rather mix concrete and mortar than the sand topping, that stuff is the real bitch! I'd say 25% of my job is mixing haha

Looks like I might be getting the truck Thursday. Will advise as I get more info and will certainly supply more pictures once it is in my possession.

Good evening everyone.

The orders finally came through today, we're moving very soon. The current thought is to be out there for September 1st.

Yes it was Pete.

I got this from my dad today and is an interesting read about your car/truck.

This one is for all to read and then share...might help save a
life.

Now this is very interesting! My car's manual says to roll down
the windows to let out all the hot air before turning on the A/C. WHY?

No wonder more folks are dying from cancer than ever before. We
wonder where this stuff comes from, but here is an example that
explains a lot of the cancer-causing incidents.

Many people are in their cars the first thing in the morning, and
the last thing at night, 7 days a week.

Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car.

Open the windows after you enter your car and then after a couple
of minutes, turn ON the AC .

Here's why: According to research, the car's dashboard, seats,
a/c ducts, in fact ALL of the plastic objects in your vehicle, emit
Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin. A BIG CARCINOGEN. Take the time to
observe the smell of heated plastic in your car when you open it, and
BEFORE you start it up.

In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones,
causes anemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure can
cause Leukemia and increases the risk of some cancers. It can also
cause miscarriages in pregnant women.

The "acceptable" Benzene level indoors is:50mg per sq.ft.

A car parked indoors, with windows closed, will contain 400-800 mg
of Benzene - 8 times the acceptable level.

If parked outdoors in the sun, at a temperature above 60 degrees F,
the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg,40 times the acceptable level.

People who get into the car, keeping the windows closed, will
eventually inhale excessive amounts of the BENZENE toxin.

Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidneys and liver. What's
worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic
stuff.

So friends, please open the windows and doors of your car - give
it some time for the interior to air out -(dispel the deadly stuff) -
before you enter the vehicle.

Thought: 'When someone shares something of value with you and
you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with
others.'

Interesting, but not true Andy.

Buters and his colleagues first collected molecules from the air inside a new car and a three-year-old vehicle of the same brand placed under 14,000 watts of light, where temperatures reached up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. They next exposed these compounds to human, mouse and hamster cells grown in lab dishes. These are commonly used to test toxicity.

New car smell does not appear to be toxic, the scientists found. Air from the new car did cause a slight aggravation of the immune response that could affect people with allergies, but the same was not seen with the older vehicle.
(The German study also found the total amount of volatile organic compounds in a new car to be one-tenth the level claimed in the e-mail for benzene alone.)

The ACS similarly noted of this e-mail that:
We found no published studies that confirm the claims of this e-mail. Benzene levels that exceed recommendations for chronic workplace exposure have been observed in some moving cars, but these levels seem unlikely in properly maintained cars.

I think automakers have addressed a lot of the toxic outgassing of interior plastics, etc. over the years

I have Allergies to whole bunch of stuff. When my 2001 F-350 XLT (with cloth seats) was new, the "new-car smell" was really intense for the first six months. It really bothered me - headaches & asthma-like symptoms, and I'd leave the windows cracked when it was parked overnight to keep it aired out.

By comparison, the smell in my new truck (also XLT with cloth seats) is much tamer, and doesn't affect me anywhere near the way the previous truck did.

That's my opinion, and it's based on a statistical sample of two trucks, but my "nose knows."

Morning everyone.

going to be oppressive out there today.

September 1 will come around real quick Tom. But you will only be a keyboard away I hope. MN has great advantages over CT. And that is more your back yard.

I don't know about fumes and what knot. I do know that when the temp in the truck says 104 my air is on.

Evening guys, it's been a hot few days for sure, we had to grind and repoint a chimney starting yesterday, so you can imagine the amount of dust this creates, and how much stocks to you with how much you're sweating, its quite messy.
