I have a 1990 F350 Ford with 294436 miles on it.
This is a diesel International engine. The issue I'm having is the truck starts fine first time every time. Runs great lots of power no problems except when I shut it down and then start it again while its still hot it will idle rough and if I rev it one time it evens out. Sometimes when I pull up to a stop sing after getting off the freeway it will do it when I push the clutch in. Same thing when I rev it once it evens out. doesn't happen all the time just some times.
I did have the glow plug relay stick on me once. I just tapped it with my screwdriver and it started working. I cleaned all the wires and contacts and have never had a problem again. Any ideas.
Thanks
It's a safe bet that for every post you get saying they're ok, never had any trouble etc etc with these plugs, you could get many to say not to buy them, they are bad, only buy motorcraft/beru as they are consistent, reliable, last, and don't swell up and jam or break in the head. Rock auto.......
i have not known anyone that used the wellman or diesel rx glowplugs as they are also called and had any luck with them. there are plenty people on the internet that swear by them, but my experience with fleet service of ambulances and at the body shop is if it is not a motorcraft/beru glow plug, it does not go into a ford because i do not want the vehicle coming back in a month for failed aftermarket glow plugs.
as for the idle stumble when hot, it sounds like your injector pump is on it's last legs.

Thank you for the replay. Too bad I already bought them. Thanks for the tip on the injector pump. I will look into that.

Um, if it's starting, it's not the injection pump housing/rotor wear that usually affects these - It wouldn't start period before it would have trouble at idle.
I would do the old ATF trick to clean the pump before anything else - Empty out your fuel filter, fill it with ATF, start the truck and let it idle(or slightly over idle) for about 30 seconds. Then shut it off and leave it all night.
Next day, get in it, let it warm up and drive it hard. It should help with various stickyness issues.
