TRANNY NOISE

So I noticed a noise a couple of mornings ago. Kinda a metal scraping noise. So I got under the truck today, and with the transmission in neutral,l when I spin the drive shaft the noise seems to be coming from the tailshaft of the trans. any ideas? something fixable, or do I start looking for a tranny? Thanks
In advance. Andy

there is a bushing located inside the tail housing. they sometimes go out. it causes the drive shaft to rub on the tail housing. i have seen this happen on older Crown Vic's. drop the drive shaft and check the yoke for unusual ware.
