Ok so Ive never actually had to change one out before. Just unscew and screw the new one in? Is this thing connected to a pigtail or what?i have the feeling that its pretty simple but Ive been wrong before lol. I figured id ask on here while im trying to find the part.
The passenger side works fine and trips coutesy lights when door is opened. But no buzzer. Are those things one and the same? Or is the buzzer something different alltogether? Thanks guys. Going to get pictures up soon as I get around to loading them up onto the computer and findimg a place to host them.
duralast SW1342 for my '93's drivers side.simple as it looks.unscrew,unclip the wire,replace.
the warning buzzer is up under the dash.with it buzzing, follow the noise with your ear down there.i always unplug warning buzzers.can't stand them.
The passenger side ain't wired to the buzzer, not supposed to be anyway.
Yes there is a pigtail on them, and yeah to remove it just undo the nut and push the switch thru the hole. New one goes in the same way the old one came out. Nothing special about them.
You can upload pics here right on the forum but I think you have to have a certain number of posts first. ImageShack or PhotoBucket offer free picture hosting.
Pull the switch through? Is there a way to get to it otherwise? Thanks for the info dixie! Funny all the stuff ive done to vehicles this has never once come up. They were mostly too far gone to even worry about or were never bad. Got a thing where if it half *** works I want it to work all the way. If its all the way broken and not imperative to operate the vehicle i dont really care. Lol thanks for the info about the pics as well!
All my doors on my '92 F-350 Crew Cab have the screw in type except my driver door which has the actual button type that's held in by a screw. I rarely see this type on the drivers door and my buddy has a '97 F-350 Crew Cab. And reason why?

You mean a way to get it out without pushing it thru? No.
If I remember right you take the nut off and just reach behind the door frame and pull the switch out. Been a few years since I removed botb of mine but I don't remember it being hardly any work at all. You'll have to pull the interior trim panel of course.
I found one at the boneyard today. Unscrewed it and pulled the harbess through the hole very gently then unplugged it. Didnt have to do anything else. You are correct. It was very little work. Thanks!
Oh so it just unscrewed from hole in the door frame? Cool, even less work than I remember it being! For some reason I thought it was held in with a nut.
