noise in drivetrain
Ok, i need to know if anyone else has had this same noise as i am having now. When I start off in low or first gear or when i change directions and go in reverse (when i first start going) I hear a clunk in my drivetrain. It sounds like its comming from the transmission/tcase area. Carrier bearing, u-joints and rear end are all good and solid, no movement when engaged and noise is heard. Ive only got a possiable anwser from one person,; he's said that hes heard of some people haveing "the output shaft of the transmission and the input shaft of the tcase getting play in them". Has anyone else had this problem?

well, as always check the simple things first. It turned out that one of the bolts that holds the driveshaft to the drive flange was loose and the big nut on the back of the tcase drive flange was loose too. Tightened them up and the noise went away. Im much happier now.
