Ford 1952 - Panel or Passenger (SW) ?

Recently I bought a van in 1952, where the owner told me it would be original. I did not think another of the same model.
They could help me to say whether it is really original or has been cut or done?
thanks

Welcome. My goodness I like your truck. It is, I suspect, a specially coach built truck even though we have previously seen unique body styles original to South America. It appears to be based on an F-2 or F-3 chassis judging by its longer wheel base. It does, however have half ton front and rear fenders. The curved seam along the side, window treatment, and rear door are clearly professional build features. More pictures would be greatly appreciated.

The closest USA counterparts would be the half ton panel truck conversions done by Siebert, Proctor, and others. For comparison, below is a Marmon-Herrington Ranger owned by a friend. Stu

I wouldn't care if it wasn't factory original, it looks awesome. I really like the uniqueness of it. I would restore it back to original, it's probably a one of a kind or at least one of a few, which most probably didn't survive.

Ditto on more pictures.

I'm reconsidering my point about being on an F-2/3 chassis. I think the full running boards, half ton wheels and hubs, and spacing between side door and fender say it's a half ton platform. Stu

That is a very nicely designed truck! The accent line really sets it off!

Not sure that is an F-2 chassis; 5-lug wheels and if you imagine where a cab would end, about the same distance to the rear fenders/wheels. A wheelbase measurement would confirm. I can't recall ever seeing the horizontally-split rear door on any Ford products. Note the full-length running boards, too.

edit -- I was pondering too long, you beat me to it Stu

The body looks like it was made from a 46-48 Ford 2door Sedan

That is a very interesting body. I'm particularly impressed by the belt line that was added to the body and doors.

The horizontal split rear door was quite common on all 30's, 40's and 50's station wagons. But that belt line crease is very different. Most likely there to strengthen an otherwise very flexible piece of sheet metal.
Are there any special or unique markings on the body? What does that placard say on the lower rear panel? It does not look like it simply says "Ford".

That honestly almost looks like it could be factory it is done so well. Are you from Brazil? I would guess that its an odd ball Brazilian Ford design.

Not a Panel

Never saw this body before. Has a F1 52 front but not a Panel body. The running boards are full lenght and seems like from a pickup. The tank filling nozzle looks like the Panel though. Doors are not the same as original pickups and panels, body shape is different ans rear doors are very different from anythng from Ford. It's not brazilian because all Ford pickups and panels were imported before 1957. First brazilian Ford pickups are from this year with a 53 shape.
