[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Sep-02 AT 07:48 AM (EST)] Strange question, I know. I got to reading through the Weird Wisconsin website, soaking up all the ghost and haunting stories. Therein lied a link to The Shadowlands, with even more such spooky references to WI haunts. As I scrolled down the page, reading all the witness accounts from the various small towns, I could not help but to stop at the one titled "[a href="http://theshadowlands.net/places/wisconsin.htm"]Caryville - Old Cemetary[/a]."
Seemed like the average, harmless recount until the third and final sentence. Read it for yourselves and tell me your thoughts. Hair raising and very disturbing.
What kind of creature is this? What does it look like, and what are its behaviors? The witness account on that page is so vague, I am tempted to drive the 130 miles from my home and experience it for my own benefit. Check out that one just above, titled "Canton - Bantely Graveyard." Take note of the bit regarding your brake system as you cross the bridge.
my guess would for hellbounds would be creatures doomed to spend eturnity in the depts. sort of like a goat man which if im correct is the sign of the devil
A hell hound is just that, a hound from hell. Mythologically speaking they appear as a living dog (most popularly depicted as a doberman) with glowing red eyes and the ability to breath fire. Commonly thought of as minor demonlings that roam Hades. They have been incorporated into popular culture through contemporary legend, computer games (such as the new Neverwinternights), and role-playing games (such as Dungeons & Dragons). I know, I know...there is far too much useless trivia cluttering up the ol' brainpan.
you should try playing the game blood 1. i have it and it's fun. it has the fire breathing dog in it, the hellhound along with other cool deamond stuff like zombies.
there are a lot of good video games that are based upon the supernatural. devil may cry for ps2 is a good example
Looks like I caught someone's attention! I haven't checked out Minnesota yet although The Shadowlands appears to have a page about the state. You all should try these links for a bit of a hair-raise:
[http://theshadowlands.net] "The Shadowlands"
[http://www.weirdnj.com] "Weird New Jersey" (check out the Only Go There At Night and Roads Less Traveled sections)
[http://www.weird-wi.com] "Weird Wisconsin" (if you find the news article about the suicide by table saw, note that it happened only two blocks from my bud Eric's house)
[http://ghosts.w-files.com] "The W-Files"
[http://www.castleofspirits.com] "Castle of Spirits" (excellent article about hell hound/black dog stuff in Unexplained section)
Pretty good stuff contained within those websites. More than enough to keep a good portion of you sleeping with an eye open tonight. As for the hounds, I am curious as to whether or not they can be injured and killed with projectile weapons. Regardless of the answer, I wouldn't want to be caught out in the open with one. Now if I were to make that 130 mile trip in hopes of recreating the scene narrated on the website, I wonder whether or not I could make it out alive after turning off the lights to view those horrifying creatures...
