clunks when starting from dead stop
I am new to this site and I have a question my 1986 f350 clunks when starting from dead stop sound comes from rear end any help would be appreciated

I concur. Sounds like the U joint to me.

checked them they are tight sound only happens once

yea that is what I was thinking about took it on farm over weekened driving up though field rear end was slipping

I had a 65 LeMans that would occasionally clunk. UJoint's "felt" tight, but on disassembly, one was clearly bad.
