Fix for floppy door mirrors?
I have a 1997 B2300 (Ranger) that suffers from floppy mirrors (manual mirrors). Every time I get in, I have to adjust them to where I want them and they never stay in position and it's an annoying issue. Adjusting them doesn't help because as soon as I hit a bump, they are both way off.
If anyone could shed some light on a fix, it would be great. I am currently not in the position to replace them, but I will replace them later on if I absolutely have to.

I dont think there is any way to fix this issue. You can look by pushing them all the way to the edge and see if there is a screw of some sort, but probably not. YOu can check some of the auto stores that have lights fenders for aftermarket replacement stuff. I paid $40 for electric one when I added them to the truck. Manuals should be very cheap. If nothing else stuff them with foam rubber that is glued in to the back shell. That may help for a while.. BTW is it the mirror or the shell you are talking about?

I had a similar problem on some mirrors, and used some pliers to make the ball-shaped surface the mirror swiveled on a bit rougher. I put some 'plier grooves' into the ball, and that made the mirror hold its position better. It seems they are either too hard to move or will not hold their position at all...
