Weak A/C

It seems my truck has weak A/C. When it is under load (like accelerating from stop light), it gets somewhat warmer. This occurs when I am not towing the camper as well. Is this a perfect time to try that can that adds Freon? If yes, then which one? Which port to connect it to?
