Will be leaving to go camping tomorrow and everything was working perfectly, now I am getting a error on the thermostat E2 and would you think my book would tell but no it has E1,E4, and E5. No E2 Error Code. If any of you might know what this is I would appreciate. Oh by the way it is a Dometic AC unit and thermostat. Thank you Jim....

I haven't seen a User's Guide that doesn't have all the codes, but E2 is "open circuit or out of range indoor temperature sensor. Heating and Cooling will be locked out. Fan operation can continue to operate."
Does your rig have a remote sensor or is it just sensing temperature at the stat?

Steve
I think it is sensing temperature I Guess . Is it because it was off completely and the outdoor temps here were around 95 and feels like 102, could it have lock out.....
This is from the manual and is the recommended procedure whenever troubleshooting the T-stat. What you are doing here is basically rebooting your system. This is the only recommendation in the service manual for the single stage LCD stat provided it has power to it. This step reestablishes communication between the stat and the module box you see when you drop the filter:
First thing when trouble shooting the T-stat is System Initialization
(RESET), this will restore communication and Factory
Default settings.
System initialization is performed with the
thermostat turned “off”. Press and hold the “mode” & “+” buttons
until the display shows”- -“. Press the “mode” button once
to exit the system initialization mode
Question on this. I have the manually operated t stats.
Would this ever occur with them?
No, unlike the LED stat that is on everything Dometic for a year or two, the stats with the sliders do not lock up and are quite reliable. Overall problems with thermostats, including the new versions, are uncommon, although folks seem to have a propensity for replacing them whenever the AC or furnace doesn't work.
Provided you have the standard Dometic t-stat, the change-over is not hard and probably does give a better read on the temperature and holds more closely to the setting. Just didn't want anyone to think they had to upgrade due to problems with their original stat.
