First post, hoping to get some help as I just got a 2000 X 7.3L. My wipers do not park on their own, nor do they perform a full cycle when they are set to intermittent mode. On low and high they work just fine but again, won't park on their own. I can hear some squeaking when they operate that is mechanical but otherwise have no other hints as to what I should troubleshoot. I have just finished replacing the wiper switch and signal control arm. The low and high function is an improvement over the last switch that they wouldn't work properly on. Thoughts?

JUST A GUESS, but it sounds like the motor might be weak if you won't get a full wipe on intermittent. Try when dry on low to see if it will full cycle then. I know it's inconvenient but personally I'd live with it.
Squeaking makes me wonder if some of the linkage is binding up. On intermittent they usually move a bit slower, so on full the motor might be overcoming the bind and powering them through. Just a thought... doesn't explain the no parking issue however.
I'd lean towards the motor based off similar symptoms on other vehicles I've had.
Appreciate it guys. I hadn't thought about binding, I might check for that before I consider a new motor. Can anybody tell me if there is anything other wires between the switch and the motor?
To close this out, the problem was an exhausted motor. I tested voltage across the terminals and was getting 4.6-4.8 consistently on high and low. On intermittent I would get a brief voltage spike at a predictable interval. New motor installed in about 20 minutes and it is nice and quiet.
