I'm fixing up my 1972 ford f100 with a 302 V8 and we replaced the old two barrel carb with a newly restored holly the kickdown rod is now in the way of everything so I'm looking into a cable setup how would you go about setting it up and any suggestions or tips that may help me in the process of installing thanks in advance
It's not really needed unless you want it. You could try to bend yours to work or go the cable route. Ive never done it but I'm sure it can't be that hard. Hopefully someone will chime in with more knowledge on that.

You didn't specify which transmission, so this may or may not be correct, but in my experience, kick down RODS usually PUSH the lever on the transmission, while kick-down CABLES usually PULL the lever. So typically when you switch from one setup to the other you need to remove that lever and reinstall it 180 degrees. Holley probably sells a kick-down cable kit to match the carb and transmission that you have. Although you could probably junk-yard it and find a donor with the cable & brackets that you need.

Thanks yea we are gunna try to turn it and attach the cable kit once we find one I think its a c6 to be honest we don't know yet
? it was a simple bolt on for my Truck .
you have a 302 so good chance you have a C4 not a C6 so that kit would be wrong one.
how many bolts hold the pan on the transmission ? easy way to tell what trans you have
