Brett- I flash my truck and anyone standing near it quite often. Does not seem to have changed the performance at all.

I only have an '08 to compare my '15 dually to, but love the power, shifts much better, exhaust brake. The only gripe at 4100 miles is the Nav system. Hope I never get lost & need to rely on it. You would think a $50K truck would have a system that was within a block or two of where you actually are.

Our nav system in our 15 works great. Took us to within 50 ft of destination and on proper side of road.

Have you updated the sync? I could be a GPS that needs attention.

My nav is fine. I only wish it would take into account trailers.

I have a rand McNally RV GPS for that though.

Hi RuralSurvivalGuide,

Have you changed the tires on your vehicle? This can create an issue like the one you've experienced. If you have, visit your dealer for calibration. If not, visit your dealer to have the GPS module checked.

Hope this helps.

I'm a technology nerd, so this has me curious. What feature of our Nav system is affected by changing tire sizes? Is it for tracking our position when and if satellite signal is lost?

Hey EO2SeaBee,

The modules are programmed to support the manufactured size; changing them distorts the configuration. I don't have the specifics as I am not a trained service advisor, so I recommend contacting the service department at your local dealership for clarification.

My Nav system just yesterday showed the truck diving in the middle of nowhere, in water, etc. and not on the actual road. Wasn't even a really rural road, it was a local highway. Cancelled the route and re-entered and then it said "road not found, proceed with caution". As soon as I got to the next turn it started working again. Probably was screwed up for a good 8-9 miles.

I have an '11 built 05/10 that I bought used with 66,000km on it. now just over 80,000km. I transferred the ext warr and FMPP over to my name. That just ended this past Monday.

So far tq converter, flywheel, vac pump seals, crank seal, lwr rad hose, two mirrors, shocks, wipers, bulbs all under warranty or FMPP. Still have some parts they're waiting on to fix a momentary rough running last week.

My radiator and turbo wouldn't fail under warranty so hopefully they won't now. Don't want to drop and exhaust valve either (touch wood).

Scott,
My truck is 3 months old, you would think the latest update is installed. No, I have not changed tire size. Nearest dealer I trust is 2.5 hrs away. Will try them next time I'm in the neighborhood.
Thanks all.

My 2012 f350 with 120k miles has zero history of anything being done to it. Right before I "fixed" my DPF I did get a stop safely now message.

No doubt!

The folks behind the counter have a real demanding job but still, they only tell us whatever pops up on their computer screen. Conversation and speculative information just gets them in trouble. What a great society we have created!

2012 Here. Only put 34,000 miles on but have had some minor issues. Had the front steering dampener replaced at 24,000 miles for a wobble, and a vacuum solenoid at some point as well truck basically starting mooing like a cow whenever I shut it off. Then someone sideswiped my truck in a parking lot, kudos to them for leaving nothing however it was covered completely under my insurance and the shop did a damn good job so I can't complain. No major break downs or anything silly. Shop is telling me I need to brake pads soon, which seems early to me but it is what it is.
