so I have a 390 it has shaved heads but I want to put aluminum heads on and the pistons are dished to accommodate the valves( may be just regular dished for all I know) , the heads aren't shaved much so would I need new pistons or would I be fine with what's in it, the heads I want are the Edelbrock complete heads 76cc , I really wouldn't know what I would need to do so any help would be nice
Go online and check with a piston manufacturer's piston specs to find out what the compression ratios are with different size chambers. EG flat top piston with 76cc chamber, dished piston with 76cc chamber. Would need to know the height of the piston above the wrist pin to confirm if you have stock pistons.

Valve reliefs and dishing are two different things.
