key in ignition bell

Just got my '95 yesterday. Great truck so far. First question is how do I disable the key in ignition chime? This can get annyoing fast, but I don't want to go ripping wires out not knowing what they are. I wouldn't mind keeping the headlights-on warning if possible. Anyone done this?

I'm sure there are different ways, but the way I do it, is to pull the ignition switch out and unhook the wiring from there. All you do is remove the switching, which involves no cutting and you can reinstall it any time you want. I've done that on both my trucks, and the headlamp-on bell will continue to work.

Let it chime until you find the little box , its looks like a little door bell chime , Its white or gray & has what looks like a little speaker grill .

I think Pastmaster has the prefered method. It will kill the keychime but retain the headlight warning. I will elaborate.
First take the plastic cover off the bottom side of the column (3-4 screws).
Next, turn the key to the unlocked position, but not on (one forward of lock)
Push the small release pin and pull the cylnider out.
Remove the switch and tape it up. Put the cylnider back in. and replace the cover on the column. The switch will just be under the cover now. I have done this on my 93F150 and my 97XR7 too.

Thanks a lot guys, I think I'll try unhooking it from the ignition switch.
