Ford recommends to add about 8 oz of coolant additive every 15,000 miles. You can also test the concentration with test strips designed for this purpose. In another forum, it was stated they got their strips @ $16 for 50 from Navistar. I get mine from work ( I service a fleet of diesel trucks), so I do'nt know of any better deals on test strips at this time. As for additive, I use WixCool from my local auto parts store.
Look into evans waterless cooling. Do a search and read up on it. Never have to use additives. I have been using it for quite awhile now in 100+ deg weather and no problems. check it out.
So if premium gold IS extended life like cookie said yes too than why is ford putting it in at the factory? This isnt making any sense to me or maybe i misunderstood the contents of this thread.
