This came up when Snuggyworm posted on FB his build date of his truck and that got me looking, mine says 05/05 on the door and the engine says 2006 as does the VIN. The comments that I got was that it was a 2005 with a 2006 engine (which I know is not true). I have the Oasis report and it shows a build date of 15 May 2005 and release date of 18 May 2005. Now my question is, the last 5 digits are 03226, is there any way to find out what was the production number of the first 2006 F-250? or the last 2005 F-250? Just curios to see how close mine is to the first.
Give your vin# to a dealer or Ford and they should be able to tell you.
Altho if it was a buy back or a newer engine was installed for some reason after it left the factory they may not know. Also I think they will need at least the last 8 to tell engine, or is it 10. Been awhile since I had to check on one.
IIRC the engine build date is on a yellow sticker on the FICM (if you still have the original). And on a sticker on the back of the driver side cylinder head/block area. Both damn inconvenient to get to but FICM is easier.
For the truck build date you can try this in your browser address bar:
