I was checking the air gap on my 1999 F250. The AC works most of the time but sometimes it blows hot air. The air gap was around .35 to .40... I removed the outer clutch and found that I only had one spacer in there. I removed it and the air gap was too tight. I cleaned the two surfaces iwth brake clean to remove any grease that might prevent a good magnet contact and replaced the spacer. However I did notice some wear between the clutch and the compressor. The wear is going into the rivots of the clutch. Is this excessive? The clutch seems to click on better now that I cleaned it..
