Hey guys, i am new here. I picked up a new truck. Got a 97 extended cab, 4wd, longbed. 76k original miles. Runs great. Its got a few scratches but overall the body is in great shape too. Loving it so far.

I am looking to start doing a few mods to her. Are there any stock parts that should be changed out before i start doing anything else? What are the fist mods to do to start getting a little more pep? I am assuming exhaust and intake are the fist things to do. What do you guys recommend? Thanks

Justin

Yep intake and exhaust. 6637 mod for intake and 3" downpipe with whatever tickles your fancy behind that. After that prolly gauges then chip then your wallet will be the determining factor. Welcome to the forum, where we can spend your money faster than you can make it LOL

Nice looking rig. Probably good to check and change fluids as needed and test the antifreeze for the proper SCA levels.

Hey, that looks like you stole my truck, added a grill guard and put new tires on it! (not the one in sig)
I'd post a picture, but the gallery doesn't seem to be working anymore and photobucket is blocked here at work.

That's a REAL NICE TRUCK!!!!!

^^^^ Use the "insert image" button (rectangle icon with yellow on the top, and gray sorta mountan on the bottom). Allows you to upload a photo from your computer.

I'll just do it from my phone. A little dirty right now, been too busy to give her a bath.

Yup. they look like twins. I dont know if i got a good deal or not. I could not find anything to compare it to. Everything that i saw in decent shape had atleast 200K miles on it. I paid 12k. How did i do?

I would say you did awesome! I paid 6100 for the truck in my sig, it had 355K on it, Just flipped 376K, but 0 rust, still looks like new underneath. That truck is gorgeous.

Edit: I don't drive mine in winter since I live in the salt belt, but best I can tell it started life in New Mexico, then went to Georgia, then came to Illinois 4 years ago. Thats the only way I can account for how clean it is.
