Glad you found the smelly culprit!

These trucks are not overly, electrically complicated but all it takes is a set of aftermarket lights, a newer alternator and a spiffy new cassette player for an electrical dunce to make a nest of things!

All the splicing looks like someone may have added a different ignition switch at some point..

Take your time, eliminate one wire at a time and the truck will be like new again

No.

1908-1927: Model T's had very few mechanical changes, the only thing that I recall was an optional starter available in the mid 1920's.

So, technically, Ford went back to negative ground in 1956

This thread made me get back under my dash and button up a few things... Would be a shame to loose a truck over a nasty 12v+

Not a big fan of these aftermarket auto starts and remote door locks, they do it fast and cheap, and that's when problem starts, when you get a new to you truck always look under the dash and around the firewall and fender aprons. Hate to see your ride burning on the side of the road. As a fireman we go at least 3 times a week for a working car fire. Mostly older models, there always a total and if you spent some hard earned cash on your ride it's work peeking around.
