That's one thing I like about the v10. Other than the click of the ac clutch, you can't tell the system is running. Unlike my four banger focus that looses half its power. You may have another issue that is compounding all your other symptoms. With a code reader you can look for misfire data. You might be surprised how well a v10 can run while misfiring. I have yet to figure out how to see more than 8 cylinders on my scanner, but if after finding a misfire present on my cheap scanner, the dealership can read mode 6 data quick and tell you which cylinder it is.
Good to know. My wife and kids are coming down to see me and she's bringing my code reader so I'll be able to hopefully see what's going on in the next couple days.
Pulled codes yesterday and no stored, pending, etc codes. Pulled the power to the front 4 COPs and each one created a misfire. Going to pull the remaining 6 hopefully this weekend. If all those create a misfire, I guess I'll download torque app or something and start looking at some data.
Just out of the blue...and I am not familiar with v-10's, but do they come with cats on the exhaust? Maybe check the cat and mufflers for some restrictions. Just an idea as it seems you have done a lot of preventative work already. How long you going to be in SA? I will be down there in a couple of weeks starting on the 26th or so...

I agree but I don't know how to check the cat/muffler. The tailpipe feels like it's letting a good amount of exhaust out and I kicked the cat pretty good and nothing rattled. I'll be here till 9 July.
Ok so I just figured out how to use the torque app and found that I have 4 cylinders misfiring and a lot of other things popping up like rich/lean conditions (going off of memory). So I think I'll buy a cop or 2 and sew if that fixes 2 of the misfires. If it does, it'll give me a good idea to start. What do Y'all think? Sound like a good plan?

Does it tell you which cylinders? I would check plugs unless you already changed them. I think you can move the COP from cylinder to cylinder so find a good one and swap with a bad one see if if picks up the misfire move to another cylinder. Then you know COP is bad, plug is good.
IIRC it's cylinders: 2,4,7, and 9. All the values were 65 and I think 1 of the cyls was 130. I'll Def try switching the COP's around. Thanks!
I am wondering if it's a Torque app problem. On mine, I would also get 65 misfires on some cylinders and 130 (which is exactly 65*2) on others. Some times the count move to other cylinders, but almost always 65 and 130.
I was wondering the same thing. 4 cylinders misfiring is an awful lot for how smooth it runs. I have car gauge pro also. I'll run that by it and swe if it's the same. I'm getting more errors though besides the misfires like rich/lean conditions which kinda does sound like somethings going on.

When you have a COP go out the CODE reads rich/lean.. When you think about, If the plug is not firing properly raw fuel will head down stream causing a rich reading.
I was down to 5.5 on one trip. a fill up of 93 octane (no ethanol, this was years ago) got me back up to 7. ethanol will kill power and fuel mileage! between my 5 star tuner, which gained me approx. .5mpg, and my wing I bought off Craigs List another .5 mpg I`m up to an average of 7.9-8.5 mpg depending on 55 mph back roads (8.5) or 68mph on the highways (7.9). It sounds like you have 3.73`s. 4.30`s will be a big help when towing heavy! my TT weighs in at 9200lbs.
So I've been using the torque app and have 6 cylinders reading a misfire via the app but not setting a code and showing the errors attached. My X is a cali model obd2 and I have egr, 2nd 02 behind the cat and sticker under the hood.... I understand why it's not setting a code but I drove it around a little bit ago and the misfires cleared themselves... i never reset the pcm or even turn the X off. The misfire errors just went away but the errors aytChrdremained but the values changed and when I drove it, I put it in 2nd and gave it full throttle, there was a good hiccup at 2800ish rpm consistently at full throttle only every time.I'm going to change the plugs and boots but i was wondering if anyone expierenced this before.
