Hi all,
I have purchased a 2008 ford escape XLT with 107k miles.
i know the mileage is high but it had a good oil change record.
and it drove nice and all.
any way what should i expect to replace in order to to keep my car in good shape?
also i know this is stupid but do you think i can order this part in the picture,
the thing that divides the cargo area. and what is its name?
I'd suggest familiarizing yourself with the Ford maintenance schedule for the Escape.
There are a few important services that should be done at 90-100K.
You can find OE Ford service tech manuals on eBay, get some.
Utilize all of your resources, this website is packed with great info...search and ask Q's.
Regarding the cargo cover, those can usually be found on sites such as your local Craigslist or eBay...if you have a local "pick-n-pull" check there as well.
You don't want to pay dealer price for one of those.
The cargo cover that came with mine was removed and has been in my basement for 13 years. I made a platform for our dog so she could see out the windows while traveling with enough space underneath to put suitcases, fold up chairs, groceries, ect...
Instantly cured the car sickness she had and after covering the platform with padding and carpet, it was her favorite place to be.

Is it a 4 banger or V-6? IIRC around 100k the coolant and spark plugs are supposed to be change. At least on the 2.3 I-4, both are very easy. Other than that basic maintenance goes a long way on these cars. Other than my 2008's appetite for wheel bearings, I have had to replace the driver's side tone ring, both outer tie rod ends, two sets of front brakes (first set a mechanic was a knucklehead), struts and shocks and had the 2-4 band snap on the CD4E over the course of 120k miles.
