I posted this up above before I found this board so hope you don't mind me copying it here.
my work van has been running poorly so after much procrastination, I put in four new coil packs and two plugs. ( that was all the self abuse I could stand for one session).
So now, it it will start and idle fine but no low end power to drive. it idles for a short time then shuts off. Restart and it will shut off in less time.
At first there was surging which made me look for vacuum leaks but found none.
when I turn the key on, the rail pressure pumps up then bleeds down slightly.
when running it shows 40 pounds of pressure right up until it shuts off.
I hate working on vans but really don't want to buy another work truck.
You have an OBD-II system that should be interrogated for whatever DTC's might be present. From there it should be much more simple than just changing parts without any real direction or clue what problems actually exist.
the pressure remains constant until the shutoff. I thought about the regulator, but I was no where near it while working and the vacuum line is intact. (I'm a motorcycle mech, but I hate working on anything with four wheels)
