92-96 F150 Dash Pad Replacement

I have read the older post and understand how to replace the dash pad except for one detail.

After removing the radio, do I have to remove the radio "cage" in order to get to the nuts that hold the pad to the dash?

I have removed the radio but can't seem to feel the nuts behind the pad around the radio area.

The cage is that thin sheet metal box that the radio slides into.

Thanks in advance.

You must have an aftermarket radio, and yes it will have to be removed to access the nuts for removal. It's not hard but can be frustrating.
