Codes clear themselves?
I have been having issues with my tranny, just had fluids flushed and wanted to see if it helps the problem. It was showing incorrect gear ratio after 3rd gear was commanded (647 I think). I asked the shop to clear the codes so OD Off would stop flashing, so I could see if it came back. They said it will basically clear itself if the fluid change solved the problem, and it would be best to leave it as it is for a while. How does this work and is this correct information? Will good self-diagnostics clear trouble conditions by itself?
