bone yard 135a a/c compressor

An a/c compressor is $27.00 at the bone yard, with warranty. I noticed the top a/c tube is cut off and folded over. After about six month what happens inside the compressor when the air gets in? Is it worth buying used, if I do the work myself? I would have to buy the tools.

As long has no water got inside, you should be ok. You can pull the compressor apart to check internals for rust. Just careful how u pull apart as there is many small parts inside. Other than that a shot of PAG oil before adding refrigerant is all you need to get it functioning

Probably a better one than you can order new (cheap import crap!). I wouldn't take it apart though. The thing might not seal back up. I would, however, give it a good flushing with the best flush solvent you can find. Then put new oil in it (proper amount by the book), pull a good vacuum and make sure it holds, juice it up and see what happens!
