Had a cooling problem on 88 Bronco I bought a few weeks ago.
During checks I made I discovered fan belts out of whack. On closer inspection the water pump pulleys were out of alignment by over 3/4". Decided to pull water pump, upon removal discovered the impeller laying in the engine cavity opening. It had worn the back of the water pump into a razor sharp edge. Amazing that it didn't leak.
Just something to be aware of on these little motors.
I found a all Aluminum radiator 3 row on Ebay Bolts right in easy to replace. Look for 1988 ford bronco11. Good Luck
3 core Aluminum? In 88? Thought all 2.9 stock radiators were 1 core. I run a 2 core Aluminum 4.0 radiator in my 88. Only 3 core Bronco II radiator I saw was a brass 2.8 radiator. It uses a different core support and will not bolt to the aluminum radiator support. Do you have a link or manufacture of this radiator?
