So I guess I must be doing something wrong when I do searches, but seems like the same threads always come up. Anyway, while tracking down my miss (bad COPs on cylinders #1 and #9) I realized my driver's side headlight is out. Soooo, time to upgrade! Whats the best LED conversion you guys have used that doesn't require major fabrication? My X has just about 230K and I don't think I have ever replaced a headlight!
LED Headlights Pro looks like a decent set, about $200 for the headlights themselves and you can choose temperature, plus about $200 for the dogfights conversion. I had found another company that replaced the entire assembly, I'll look and see if I can find that website again. Looks like it would be an interesting swap, especially if it works like advertised... keep us posted if you do decide to do this, I'm pretty interested myself.
Nicely timed thread, I need to yank the headlights and foglights so I can bake them open and clean all the flood and swamp water out from the insanity we've had here in Houston. Since the fogs blow out routinely with deep water, I'm going to throw some of those waterproof LED bulbs in there of the 9005 variety.

Ags, do you have any comparison pictures?
Sorry, I had some crappy projector style housing that I did not like, but the output is 100% better...I have this one...
Ags...are your LEDs just replacement bulbs in the stock housing?
Yes they are. But I believe the 2004 housing are superior to the 03 and below housings...I got them aligned at the shop, and have not been flashed once.
any insight on how to swap bulbs if you have done (plan to do) a headlight conversion? Example: I have a 2000 F350 XL but id like to do the 07 HD headlight swap.

1. You're going to modify your header panel
2. You're going to need pigtails/adapters to turn the 9004 plugs into H13 plugs.
If you're going with aftermarket, many sets come with the adapters.
If you're going with OEM headlights you can find the adapters separately.
Or you can buy the 05-07 header panel (about $100) and swap it out instead of modifying the stocker...
It is very worth it for the better reflector/ bulbs in the 05-07 headlights!!

I have replaced my Lincoln Town Car’s two 9007 High/low bulbs with fair ease and great results. Nighttime visibility is far better! A good white that is not so blue that you lose your night vision.
Nighttime gas mileage would be appear to be averaging ~2 miles per gallon more compared to my prior use of non-stock high-wattage Halogens. After replacing them on a yearly basis, I hope to have found a final solution to replacing them on a frequent basis. Lots of rough roads with years of construction projects have been cause for several replacements.
Note: In installing the bulbs, be certain the indexing rings on the new bulbs have not twisted in the process of screwing the fan units to the back of the bulb’s heat sink stud through the Lincoln twist locking ring. I easily fixed this when noting the projected pattern on a wall was not symmetrical.
I loosely installed the power units in hallows behind the lamp units, -I found it wise to attach a grounded tether (RFI)
