67 f-250 with a 300 out of a 91 original 67 water pump on the engine,it runs backward for the 91 but has the v-belt. where can i get the right pump for the 91 and have a v-belt? or do i change the harmonic balancer and alternator to a flat belt? i am at a quantry what should i do.
You should post in the inline 6 section. You can get more people with direct knowledge there. Not enough coffee for me yet this morning to wrap my head around what you are asking. If you are using v-belts then you use the older 67 style pump, and the newer pump with serp belt. I believe that is how it works. since the fan on the pump will be finned to turn with the direction of rotation.
You could have a head gasket issue or years of crap in the block.
he would have to stick with serp belt if he did that. Most likely all his other pulleys are v-belt. the 2 have different rotations due to belt routing.

The 4.9L (fuel injected 300) was produced from 1987-1996. It had a reverse (counter clock-wise) rotation water pump --with the serpentine belt setup.
If you currently have changed to a V-belt and a pre-EFI 4.9L water pump on the engine, it should be turning in the right direction (clock-wise rotation), as viewed looking at the engine from the front.
