Hello, I have done some searching on the forum but could never find a good straight answer.
I have a 2011 f250 6.7 and I have a very bad vibration between 40-50 that seems to peak around 45-47. It also starts again at 80+ . the dealer told me they could not find a problem. Then another told me its normal. The tire shop around here told me the tires were shot so I bought new tires. No luck. It does not affect it if I change gears.
I'm just looking for some ideas that I can look into because the dealer here is 0 help and most people just say " it could be anything" so that's helpful.
I can tell you that I have the same thing around 45-47mph. Smooth as a baby's butt below and above that speed. Also, have seen many posts about the same issue. I read about anything from u-joints to driveshaft not balanced to tires unbalanced. The issues seems to haunt alot of the SD's.
I have chased this gremlin myself to no resolution. I give up and just deal. The best results I have had are with "Road Force Balancing". You may have to call around your local shops to see if they have one.
Thanks for your input.. It makes me feel a little better that its not just me. I really need to replace my rear output shaft seal and was thinking I would just do the u-joints too just to see what happens. I know of a place that will force balance so I might try that. It just worries me that it will get worse or something has major issues but if ford says its normal then I guess its normal! Lol.

My 2004 F350 has had a vibration from 60-70mph for over five years now. Different tires, brakes and rotors, had rear driveshaft completely gone over by a Spicer service shop. Even borrowed another set of stock OEM wheels and stock sized tires with no luck etc. Ive got to the point where it's been so long I just don't care any longer, And if something is bad (unit bearing, tie rod etc) it woul have seized up or broke by now so I just set the cruise at 71mph and get in that sweet smooth spot
Thanks for your input. I do about the same on the road. I might do some easy change outs but I think this has helped me to not go overboard because it might be a big wast of time and money.

Yea I spent close to a grand on the driveshaft rebuild, new rotors and pads etc. I needed new tires so I can't count that LOL some guys on here went as far as having their two piece driveshaft replaced with a one piece like the 97 older heavy duty trucks had and from what they posted fixed the issue...
I just had my u-joints replaced by the dealer and now I have a shaking that starts at about 65 and gets worse up to 80, I think they dropped the drive shaft but they will probably never admit to it or fix it.
Either that or they bent one of the ears from the old joint being rusted in, the new one goes in but that little bend can cause it to shake. And no they will never admit it but they replaced the unions so go back and demand they check the balance and fix it
I fought that same behavior on my 04 CC. Finally found the rear u-joint on it to be bad. Not that yours is the same. Was hard to locate because only one of the four joint ends was bad. So it felt good when checking. Three ends on the u-joint looked great but the bad one had worn the inside race(nub) to about a 45 deg angle.
I'm thinking I might just replace the rear u-joints and see what happens.. I'm not optimistic but it not really a lot of money and I'm pushing 150,000 miles. Does anyone have an opinion on OEM vs MOOG. I'm thinking MOOG because $$$ and I can grease them. I did look under at the joints and the closest to the transfer case has one side that is covered with grime and is almost black in color. The other side of the joint is almost spotless.
