Free 1850 watt generator...

Alright, another refugee from my barn cleaning adventures. This generator (Generac brand) worked when it was placed in the barn to be immediately covered in sundry items ten years ago. I would bet that with a carb rebuild, someone would have a working generator for cheap. Must pick up, will not ship...pm me.

So... now you have me wondering, Neal. It's great to see you back on the forum. Did you get back home from someplace warm and go on a spring-cleaning rampage?

The wife and I are kicking tires on prospective homes - the last rig was a Monaco Windsor. The jury is in intense deliberation on that one.

Yup, back home after a 2700 mile tour...We spent the best part of the winter in Mexico on the beach. We are doing all the crap (cleaning, painting, etc) that we hate to do in preparation for leaving here the end of June for the Black Hills, Tetons, Yellowstone, etc. for about six weeks. Then home for a month and off to Mexico again.

If you are considering a motorhome, give the Bluebird Wanderlodge a look. No staples and sticks in these coaches...built to last on a bus chassis, all steel construction. I just added a 1kw solar system to ours and now we can boondock for two weeks at a time !

Oh my freaking gawd....

How is one supposed to keep an eye on the road and know what the hell is going on with the rig? I like my electronic gauges with alarms to do the vehicle babysitting.

That is easy to do (an electronic gauge with alarms which covers the the most important functions)...$150. Also, the engines have auto-shutdown for the major functions (oil pressure/coolant). My dash makes the one you posted look tame...and that doesn't include the overhead dash !

Since OBDII is out of the question on these rigs, I found BlueFire and SilverLeaf so far. Do you you have anything AE-ish for your MH?

Scangauge is what many use...I use the gauges that Bluebird supplied. I have driven heavy trucks for many years and lots of gauges are the norm. I borrowed an older Silverleaf system for the winter and found it nice but cumbersome. What I really liked about it was that I was able to check the accuracy and precision of my gauges. They were all right on the money.

Thanks Neal! PM sent.

Boy those instrument panels look sweet. I don't think I would have a problem sitting there all day driving!

If you've ever driven a 12' by 8'6" by 40' brick on a two-lane highway, your attention is somewhat distracted from enjoying the dash bling... at least until you develop a "feel" for it.

During the test drive, I saw MPH, 1250 degrees EGT while accelerating on the flat, and 18 PSI boost. The rest was a mystery.

That is some high EGT for flat ground acceleration and low boost...I never see those temps and regularly see 26 psi. I don't see the normal gauge, I notice the abnormal one when I scan them. Thankfully, that has not been a problem because the 8V92TA runs like a bear and I maintain it well.

Did you test drive a Bluebird Tug?
