Hey all,

Here is a stupid question. Will a driveshaft from an 87 F-150 4X4 Auto fit an 89 F-150 4X4 5 Speed Manual. The truck is 2 hours away, I would like to save a trip.

Easiest way would be to measure them. You measure yours and have the other person measure the other one. Hope this helps. Also on the off beat chance while they are under there have them check the u-joint numbers to make sure the numbers match up with yours.

Different bed sizes have different drive shaft lengths and as above a different quantity of U-joints. Long bed trucks have more joints as they have a bearing point not quite mid-way back from the transmission. Short bed trucks will usually only have one shaft with joints on each end.
