Well I replaced the spark plugs on my 2000 ranger 2.5 l . Because the tabs for cylinder 3 and 4 I had to take of the intake. After all this i go to start it and it runs fine. When I drive it up the street it starts knocking and stumbles and dies. Now it runs with some sort of knock. Does anybody have any ideas or should I take it to a mechanic?
Ok, was the knock there Before the work????
Did you use the specified Motorcraft plugs that have the right heat range & mechanical reach???
Did you reconnect all of the vacuum tube lines & this would include the PCV valve plumbing????
Do you have a CEL lit???? If so, scan the computer for trouble codes & post All code Number clues.
I believe they are the right plugs they are autolites and I did reconnect all vacuum lines and I just stuck the pcv back in the hole thing check engine light is on trying to hook to a scan tool. Knock wasn't there before
