Bumper guard removal?

Bumper guard removal?
I finally found a Warn winch bumper for my '85. But I'm not finding in the manual exactly how to remove my stock bumper. Do the guards have to come off first? And if so, how do they come off? feels like a little spring clip or something on the back side.
It's a 460 4WD if that matters and you have sigs turned off.

Should just be 4 bolts, with nuts on the backside of the bumper. Cant recall the size of the nuts.
Two hold on the actual bumper on the bottom, and the top two hold the guards and go through the bumper.

Yeah, I see the four on the backside of the bumper. So they are self retained?
The shop manual made it look like they were just hex bolts that the heads needed to be held.
I guess I'll give it them a try. They've been soaking for a week in 50/50 acetone/ATF.
