Hey this is my first time on here. I have been trying to get my actron cp9185 scanner to link up to my truck but it keeps saying to check conections. I have checked all the fuses they where good. My buddy hooked his up this morning and had trouble reading but finally did, but now I can't get mine to link up, Is there any thing else I should check? Thank you and it does have obd I I
Shoot we'll is there a update or something I can get so it will read it, I had looked up if it had con bus I think is the name and it did, cause my buddies was the same brand but the cheaper one and it read it.
I am by far not an expert on this as I haven't hooked anything to the port yet..
But I have read that we have an OBD II port, but the truck doesn't communicate in OBD II...I think you can have it reflashed to do so..but most of these guys have a scanner that can communicate with our trucks..
Then again I could be completely wrong about it all...I am not the guru that most of these guys are, but I am learning..
Welcome to FTE stick around and these guys will have you scanning/modding and just all around PSD addicted...
Very few scanners will read these trucks correctly and even fewer scanners that the average person is willing to pay for. There's a couple apps for smartphones that will work.

Having the flashed is a waste most of the time as most of these trucks have already been flashed. A lot of the dealer would flash them when they went in for work so the could use there scanners on them.
You are right. They do have a OBII but are not a true OBDII system
