I own a 2002 F-250 and I notice today that the odometer would not register the MPH until I got to approx. 40 MPH. I also noticed that the light on the Over Drive buttom is blinking for approx 2-3 minutes and then goes out.
Any one have suggestion what I need to do to repair.
I had a similar problem on the wifes Taurus, it was the speed sensor. Had I known how easy it was to replace it, I would have ordered one and done it myself.
The speed sensor is the plug looking thing on top of the rear diff. The part is only like $35 or so and it takes a modest 15 minutes tops to change out.
On the wifes car, the SES light illuminated and set a code. May do the same in a truck as nearly all speedos now are electronic.
