LOL I'll take the snow over mid-west/coastal humidity. That picture was taken a few years ago, but the truck is still earning its keep. It resides at my son's place - he gets more snow than I do.

OK, here's the info on Betsy.

Frame stamp, glove box plate and Patent Data Plate:
F4 H 1 RH 21107
F4 = F4
H = 226 I6
1 = 1951
21107 = serial number

Cowl stamp:
RH F4 H 2IH 2272
RH = Richmond plant
F4 = F4
H = Silvertone Gray
21H = 21 August / 2,272th vehicle off the line in August, 1951.

Bob, Yours is the first '51 I've seen that came with a 3.73.

Are your head numbers the ones on a tag that was screwed to the molds? I've often wondered if they were date codes. EAB is a '52 and later Car part.

ROSS,those numbers were on the heads,i sold that engine years ago to a guy in michigan to put in his 9n tractor-i thought that since it already has a 373 rear in it no need to change to something else-as far as a 9 in i thought that these old rears were made real tough so why switch to a 9 in i am 75 now and i am not trying to burn up the streets or be racing anyone-i have done all of that when i was younger the 302 and aod that i have now is just great i am happy with it

And the M-H plate is,
chassis R6-4-48075

Looks like it had a Ford of Canada rebuilt motor put into it as there's a data plate behind the coil,
bore .030
mains .010

then 22 on the bottom (assume paint)

unfortunately The Merc is donating its bones to the Ford, and will be no more.
Just to update
Trim 14 is a code for reorder of interior trim
Color 22- Yosemite Green

Quick update,

Found the frame stamp at the front on the passenger side just behind the radiator cross member.
Looks to match as some of the letters after the F5 are almost non-existant

Unless of course Ross' truck was built in December 1951. In which case the SU would be SUNDAY!

OK, I have a Merc M-1 (MDA83AHN-30642) that has a 51 styling, but the serial code reads an N for the production date (=January '52). So what does that mean? Were the 51's still built in January 52? I would think they would built 52's by then already...

Well, we figured that didn't really use that 2nd year coding in the serial numbers, and Ford Canada didn't seem to use it either. From what I have seen, Ford Canada did change the Rating plate sometime around 1951 just as they did here in the US.
The date was never really used in the serial number. Sometime during the 1951 production run they changed the year designation from a number to a letter, in your case the N= 1951, not a month code.
From my database:
1951 F1 BDA83AH51-75xx -notice the low number, (4 digit) very early production.
1951 F3 DFA83AHN-32xxx - Later production 5 digits like yours

So far we have not found any build date codes on the Canadian models.

Canadian52Merc, I looked at your other (intro) post and obtained the info you posted there.

MDA83AHN-30642
MD = Mercury M3
A = Standard trim level
83 = Pickup 114" WB
A = Stndard cab
H = Home - Windsor
P = 1951

Engine 1EE = 239 cu in V8 / 3 speed heavy Duty Transmission

Paint 24 = Mission Grey

Trim 14 = Red vinyl

MDA83BH51-9597

MD = M1
A = Standard trim
83 = Pickup 114" WB
B = Deluxe cab (note this truck does NOT have the original cab but a 48-50 cab
H = Windsor
51 = 1951

Engine 1E = 239 v8 standard 3 speed

Paint 91 = ? I don't have that one

Trim 13 = Two tone vinyl (deluxe)
So this truck has a different cab (48-50) and a different tailgate (possibly aftermarket)

MDA83BHP-21589

MD = M1
A = standard trim
83 = pickup 114" WB
B = Deluxe cab
H = Windsor
P = 1952

Paint 37 = Coral Flame Red

Trim 13 = Two tone vinyl

The Style code C2C-81B indicates a deluxe cab and chassis.

I would urge you to check the serial numbers stamped in the frames on all 3 trucks to verify, especially the one with the 48-50 cab. On Canadian trucks, the serial number should be on top of the frame rail, drivers side near the steering box.

Does anyone know when the glove box plates style was changed? I thought it was in 51, but my truck was built in August and has the old style plate.

I had heard that it was a mid September change.
