automatic head lights

I have a 2009 f150 is there any way to adjust the sensitivity of when the automatic head lights come on?

I have not heard of one. I asked on another Brand I had, and they said no.

I also wish there was an indicator on the dash that showed when they were on.

You might try covering the sensor with a piece of light window tint film if you want them to come on sooner. Just tape it in place for a temporary test.

used to be that you could look at the dash and tell because your gauge lights were on.

but then they went and screwed that all up.
dumbest feature ever.

sorry, I'm no help.

I keep my headlights in auto, but also with the fog lights enabled so that when the lights come on the fog light symbol will illuminate. This works pretty well for me.

The lights don't always come on when I would like them to, like stormy days or fog. Yes I turn them on manually when I want to be sure but it would be nice to be able to adjust the sensitivity.

Not trying to start a fight here...but I wish folks wouldn't all like to have there fog lights on. They cause a lot of glare, but I'm also staring at them like a bug flying into a light. LOL

My truck has fog lights, But I do not use them because they are only good under certain conditions in foggy weather........other wise I leave them off

I think the F150 auto light sensor is too sensitive. I find that my lights are on more often than not. Not a big deal as a former motorcycle rider and a currently a cyclist being seen is very important.

Proper adjustment of foglights is also something to consider. The F150 foglights do have adjustment screws. I run my foglights with my headlights for better low visibility.

Is the sensor on the center of the dash?

Funny I have never thought the fog lights put out any real useable light over the stock HID's. I turn them on sometimes and turn them back off since they really do not help much at all. If they were LED's I bet they would be better.
